From 15th August 2023 all COVID-19 requirements have been removed. It is now recommended but not mandated if you test positive for COVID-19, you isolate for at least 5 days, even if you only have mild symptoms. This includes if you have had COVID-19 before.

Specific guidance to manage the return to work of healthcare workers (hospitals, aged residential care, primary, community and home support services) who have been infected with, or exposed to, COVID-19, as well as those who have acute respiratory symptoms but have tested negative for COVID-19 can be found at www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/covid-19-return-to-work-guidance-for-healthcare-workers.
