We work with local councils, non-government agencies and community organisations in our region to increase the number of smokefree environments.

One of the things we do is support councils to put in place educational outdoor smokefree policies.  Most councils in our region have smokefree policies covering all parks, playgrounds and sports grounds.

The reason for outdoor smokefree policies is make smoking less acceptable in our communities.  Children and young people learn by observing others, the less children and young people see smoking the less likely they are to become smokers themselves.

We also support smokefree events in the community and we have a range of smokefree resources and health information available, including banners for hire.  Please contact us if you would like support for your smokefree community event.
