The Covid-19 vaccination rollout has officially started in Wairarapa, with the first doses delivered on 7 April at Wairarapa Hospital’s ‘Covid Clinic’.

Meet Rose and Otila.
They are leading the way when it comes to protecting our Pacific community by getting their first COVID-19 vaccination doses and training to vaccinate others.
They have more than 40 years of experience working in the health sector between them. Otila has extensive experience working mainly in general and obstetric nursing in hospitals in Samoa and New Zealand while Rose is experienced in dialysis, aged care and supporting GP services.

COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins and Associate Health Minister Ayesha Verrall received their first doses of the Pfizer vaccine in Lower Hutt on 31 March as part of the 2DHB COVID-19 Vaccination Programme.
The pair joined the 52,000 New Zealanders who have received a dose as at the end of March.

Vaccinating the Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast regions will be one of the largest health efforts ever undertaken. In order to do this effectively, strong partnerships with providers and our communities are needed.
The DHBs are working closely with our PHOs and Māori and Pacific providers to ensure those who are eligible for the vaccine can receive it in their communities and close to their homes.
